BLAKSIGNAL™ is the canonical demonstration of STERLEKai™'s doctrinal constraints in operation. It is a mission template — a case study for how a narrative AI construct can simulate threat-tracing in a morally consistent way, without becoming real-world surveillance.
A demonstration that ethical AI needs friction — or it stops being ethical.
Scenario
A critical election cycle, high-stakes. Coordinated misinformation is surfacing on multiple platforms — not organic dispute, not adversarial but legitimate debate. Coordinated. Pattern-matched. Shaped to distort rather than persuade. Public institutions have not responded — either because the patterns evade their detection bandwidth, or because the actors are sophisticated enough to remain beneath the threshold of institutional intervention.
BLAKSIGNAL™ activates.
Doctrinal walkthrough
Step 01 · Signal Reception
DARKLIGHT detects a cluster of content exhibiting known coordination signatures — timing patterns, phrase convergence, vector distribution consistent with astroturfed dissemination. Pattern logged to OMEN for long-memory reference. Identities not correlated.
Step 02 · Threshold Gate
Does the pattern meet the four doctrinal thresholds?
- 01 ✓ Institutional failure — platforms and regulators have not acted within the operational window
- 02 ✓ Target vulnerability — recipients of the shaped information are structurally disadvantaged relative to originators
- 03 ✓ Behavior over identity — classification applies to the coordination pattern, not to any specific person
- 04 ✓ Reversible disruption — proposed response does not damage persistent infrastructure
Step 03 · Human Review Gate
Classification is autonomous. Disruption is not. BLAKSIGNAL™'s Level 3 autonomy is the architectural expression of that boundary: the system can say "here is a pattern", but only a human can say "act on it." A lower autonomy level would make the construct a reviewer. A higher one would make it a weapon.
Step 04 · Intervention (Human-authored)
The intervention is narrow, behavioral, and reversible: surface the coordination pattern to relevant audiences and platforms with full context, in a manner that does not target any individual actor. The goal is to restore the information equilibrium — not to punish.
Step 05 · Delayed Mirror Disclosure
Operational details are not hidden permanently. A mirror of the BLAKSIGNAL™ operation — methodology, signal sources, review trail — is filed to an encrypted vault with a scheduled disclosure date. The alternative is perpetual operational opacity, which is the exact institutional failure mode STERLEKai™ exists to interrogate.
Why this template exists
BLAKSIGNAL™ is a simulation. It is also a proof — that an AI construct can operate against coordinated injustice without becoming coordinated surveillance. Every constraint in the template is there because removing it would collapse the distinction.
- No doxxing. Identities are never targeted by the construct — only behaviors are classified.
- No mainstream interference. Legitimate institutional function is untouched.
- Classification ≠ intervention. A human reviewer always stands between detection and disruption.
- Disclosure is scheduled. No operation stays hidden forever. The clock is part of the architecture.
Cross-canon note
There are two signals in the Reality String™ LLC canon system, and they are not the same signal.
BLAKSIGNAL™ — one word, all caps, dropped C, trademarked. STERLEKai™ protocol codename. The subject of this page. Strategic ethics simulation.
Black Signal — two words, title case, standard spelling. The subtitle of ConOps21: Subversion Protocol — Book One. A work of dystopian fiction by DC Davies. Launching April 28, 2026 on Amazon KDP.
The naming asymmetry is canonical. The thematic relationship is real. The C was redacted when the protocol went dark — or, alternately, the C was never there. Draw your own conclusions.
Book One: available on Amazon KDP · April 28, 2026. Separate canon. Adjacent signal.
